we still have work to do…

Though the quarantine set in place for the Coronavirus delayed our cleanup efforts earlier this year, we’re excited to get back to working with our volunteers now that medical experts have learned more about the virus.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Keep the Tennessee River Beautiful is setting a policy to ensure the safety of all of its event and program attendees, as well as its staff and board of directors. The following guidelines will be followed during Keep the Tennessee River Beautiful events, programs, meetings, and other forms of business held in-person:

  • Masks will be worn at all times during:

    - an indoor meeting

    - a ride on the Keep the Tennessee River Beautiful boat

- any cleanup activities (i.e. lifting a heavy object requiring multiple people) that bring people within close proximity to each other

  • Volunteers must complete a questionnaire confirming that they have not been knowingly exposed to someone exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms or are exhibiting symptoms themselves.

  • Hand sanitizer will be made available at all events put on by Keep the Tennessee River Beautiful.

  • Volunteers must bring their own water.

  • All life vests worn at Keep the Tennessee River Beautiful events will be washed and placed in the sun as sunlight has been reported to kill any potential contamination with the COVID-19 virus.

  • In the event that the COVID-19 pandemic is declared by health officials at the state and federal level to be officially contained, then Keep the Tennessee River Beautiful will effectively return to regular business operations.
