In celebration of National Public Lands Day, we’ll be partnering with C.A.R.E. Net, who pointed us to a large tire dump in the shallows of the Holston River. Tennessee Valley Authority, C.A.R.E. Net volunteers, and the Hawkins County industrial park will all be collaborating to help remove tires from the water where there are unfortunately shoals on either side of the tire location - preventing boats from entering the waters. This will be a unique cleanup as we will be using winches and trucks instead of boats to remove tires from the water. Last year, this cleanup removed over 100 tires in 1.5 hours!
This is a chance to have a unique cleanup experience and a huge impact within a short amount of time!
